Theatre

In Sarasota, just say the word and everyone has their favorite venue. No matter what you are interested in, I believe you can find it in Sarasota.

The Asolo Theatre is the state theatre and produce dramatic production on a repertory basis throughout the year. This year some of their offerings will include Natalie Cole, A Chorus Line, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Beach Boys, Howie Mandel Sheryl Crow, Le Miserables and the Boston Pops..

The Players Theatre is a community theatre in its 85th season here in Sarasota. They produce 8 musicals during the September to April season and then have a summer season of dramatic plays. Here you will find exceptional talent and opportunities to volunteer at the theatre, either on stage or off. They also have an ongoing school for students in acting, dance and singing.

“I just saw Annie at the Players and it was exceptional” writes George B.

“The Players scored a coup with the first production of the play Sunset Boulevard in the state of Florida. Their production was seamless and the Norma Desmond character was amazing.” JF

Florida Studio Theatre in downtown Sarasota produces a number of dramatic and comedic productions each year and stays on the edge of the newest in theatre.

Van Wezel is the local performing arts hall and every year has an extensive offering of great music and theatre. They have had everything from Seusical to Cirque du Soleil to …….. Tony Bennett.

Tennis Heaven

Sarasota is a tennis heaven! The tennis conducive weather is all year round. Joining a club is probably the best way to ensure playing partners.

The Bath and Racquet Club is centrally located just off US 41 and has 23 har-tru courts, 14 are lit. Membership is required but is reasonable and includes gym facilities and racquet ball. They have a great fitness center with a wide range of classes available including spinning and yoga.

The Oaks Country Club offers associate tennis memberships that included dining facilities at the club. This is a well-run private country club tennis program with great avenues for including new members in play with round robins, etc., all geared to your level of play. “A friendly open atmosphere,” says one buyer.

Melissa S. loves Serendipity at the Country Club of Sarasota on Palmer Ranch. She drops her kids off at school and tries to get a game in before a hard day’s work.

There are several county courts that have open time. All you have to do is sign up at the court and the previous players times are limited so there is good availability. These are located at the Siesta Public Beach, Arlington Park, minutes from Downtown and Twin Lakes Park around the corner from Serenoa

We will be adding additional locations and opportunities for play as they are suggested by our clients.
